Disney Social Media Moms Celebration 2011 Recap

Posted on 21 March 2011 by Divina Rodriguez

By Divina

Hey all! Back from an amazing whirlwind weekend and just had to share some of my pictures.

People forget that Disney Social Media Moms Celebration is a conference so while my family and sisters were out enjoying the Orlando weather and Disney entertainment, I was at a conference with several amazing bloggers as we listened to intelligent and fantastic speakers like Matt Jacobson, Chris Brogan, Rene Sylar, Georgia Stitt and Susan Egan who brought insight into taking www.dancinghotdogs.com to another level.

As soon as I unpack my notes and catch my breath, I will be posting on the speakers, the venue, the food and of course all the Disney World magic.

Until then, enjoy the slide show.

Thank you to my hosts Disney, Mom Select, Resourceful Mom, 5 Minuters for Mom and Mom Bloggers Club for an amazing weekend and the opportunity to meet such fabulous bloggers.

Disclosure: I attended a Disney sponsored conference but paid for my conference fee and transportation costs for my family and myself.

Disney Social Media Moms Celebration 2011- Wordless Wednesday

Posted on 16 March 2011 by Divina Rodriguez

By Divina

It’s fitting my first Wordless Wednesday is Disney related.

If you are on twitter you have probably read all the buzz around #DisneySMMoms and seen my badge saying the Dancing Hotdogs family is going!

What is it? Its four day conference hosted by Disney just for Social Media Moms and their families.  Eddy and I signed up a fateful day in December 2011 and now the time has finally come.

From March 17 through March 21, Eddy, the boys and I will be at Disney World, Orlando, Florida for what I know will be four days of a magical conference where I hope to connect with so many moms I have met through twitter.

Follow us at @dancinghotdogs and @disneysmmoms for live tweets on all the activities

Here is a picture of Big Bro and Mickey from our Disneyland CA vacation last year.  Now we are headed to Florida with TWO boys in tow.  Send all your good luck wishes and patience to Eddy and I, we are going to need it.  ; )

P.S. Have you seen the new Disney campaign with the real life videos and pictures of vacationing families?  Go to http://www.disneynow.com/profile/web/index.cfm?PKwebID=0x112871d7d&varPage=home .

They are so sweet and the kids are so excited! Big Bro does not know we are going to Disney so   I hope to catch a trilled expression on tape too!

Mars Needs Moms Movie Review

Posted on 11 March 2011 by Divina Rodriguez

By Divina

Wow! The animation and the 3D effects on Walt Disney Pictures’ latest motion picture, Mars Needs Moms, are amazing.  When compared to similar technology in movies such as Polar Express and A Christmas Carol and this Disney Digital 3D movie blows them away.

But first a quick synopsis from Disney:

Take out the trash and eat your broccoli—who needs moms, anyway?  Nine-year-old Milo (Seth Green) finds out just how much he needs his mom (Joan Cusack) when she’s nabbed by Martians who plan to steal her mom-ness for their own kids. Mars Needs Moms showcases Milo’s quest to save his mom—a wild adventure in Disney Digital 3D™ and IMAX® 3D that involves stowing away on a spaceship, navigating an elaborate, multi-level planet and taking on the alien nation and their leader (Mindy Sterling). With the help of a tech-savvy, underground earthman named Gribble (Dan Fogler) and a rebel Martian girl called Ki (Elisabeth Harnois), Milo just might find his way back to his mom—in more ways than one.

Mars Needs Moms is the latest movie that uses performance capture system to turn life action into animation and it works beautifully!  You really do feel like you are in Mars hanging out with a bunch of Martians as you try to rescue Milo’s mom.  Continue Reading
