Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie’s Masquerade DVD Review

Posted on 07 February 2011 by Divina Rodriguez

By Eddy

Our son has always been a fan of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, specifically because Divina is such a big Disney fan.  For me, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse has always been a welcomed show to watch for a couple of reasons:

  • 1) It teaches the kids something of value (like friendship, sharing etc)
  • 2) The show doesn’t talk down to the kids or feels dumbed down
  • 3) It is tolerable for adults to watch (I am particular to the Hotdog song at the end of the show)
  • 4) It encourages interaction

Tangled DS Video Game Review

Posted on 11 January 2011 by Divina Rodriguez

By Divina

To go along with the fantastic Tangled Movie, Disney’s Tangled: The Videogame allows you to play as Rapunzel as you follow the movie’s adventure as you make your way to the Festival of Lights.  The game is available for Nintendo DS and Wii.  I got a chance to review the DS game ($29.99) which divided the game into ten chapters.  The ten chapters had several mini games like collecting sun drops, matching Pascal’s colors, puzzle slides and other activities.  The mini games were really cute and tied in perfectly with the movie themes.

One game even has you brushing out leaves from Rapunzel’s hair.  But don’t worry if you have not seen the movie it’s not a necessity to play and win.  The game did make me want to see the movie again.  ; )  You have to win the games to keep moving forward.  The game is rated E for everyone but your little princess is going to love playing the games.   The variety of games, the colors and entertainment fun makes this a great addition to your DS video game collection.   For parents with more than one princess at home keep in mind you can only create one profile per game to save.  All in all, an entertaining game for your princess.

Wizards of Waverly Place: Spellbound Video Game Review

Posted on 08 December 2010 by Divina Rodriguez

By Divina

Readers, I won’t lie to you.   I have never seen a full episode of "Wizards of Waverly Place" I don’t like the premise of the three siblings, having to magically duke things out for a chance to keep their powers.  I also don’t like that the Dad had to give up his powers because he wanted to marry the love of his life a non magical person but obviously I am in the minority as the show is a big hit for Disney and they have come out with a video game…back to the game review.  ; )

Based on the wildly popular Disney Channel television series, Disney Interactive Studios’ brings you Wizards of Waverly Place: Spellbound game which allows players to play as Justin, Alex or Max as you hunt for a missing dress before a big fashion show.  You have to solve puzzles and use your entire wizard in training skills like freezing objects and turning people into hamsters to find that dress.

The game was cute and how else in life are you ever going to turn people into hamsters or freeze objects!  The game is perfect for any fan of the show but also has features like collecting up to 25 outfits for Alex makes it a great game for a tween in your life.  They will love the puzzles and how they get a chance to visit the popular hang outs from the television show like the Russo loft, Tribeca Prep and Waverly Sub Station.

Game retails for $29.99 and is only available for Nintendo DS.

Disclaimer: I received a sample game for my review but my post is my unbiased opinion on my gaming experience.
